One of the main reasons I have to re-shoot a hotel is probably because of room renovations. Rooms are the number one image hotels ask for. It is the final destination of the hotel guest. It is the resting place of the guest.
Knowing how a hotel bed should be done is a plus I have because of my background in hotel management studies. The way the phone cord should be, the way all lights in the room should have the same color temperature and the way the bed and pillows should be "ironed" in post production (I basically invented a technique for this) are just few of the points to have in mind during the room shoot.
Apart from doing several compositions inside the room, the photographer should try and do details also. These are very important and could be used by the webmaster in numerous opportunities.
Here are some examples of hotel rooms well photographed.
