A growing number of hotels are very interested on "Digital Detox" also known as "black-out" option at the Hotel Monaco Chicago. It is a package to help us disconnect from technology, basically smartphones, witch we all use for work and when on vacation. Digital detox will become one of the next trends in the hospitality industry beginning 2013.
We all use our phones for pictures, videos, searching places such as restaurants or points of interest, during our vacations. What digital detox is is an exchange of a electronic device (being a smart phone or tablet) to a survival kit, which may include a board game, a walking map and other reminders of great things we can do with our lives.
Some companies are so serious about this "unplug" that they are offering a 15% discount as an incentive for those willing to give up their iphone !
